Meet the Owner
Susan Florez was born with a needle in hand... or so it seems. She first started sewing out of necessity, but discovered a talent for creating from textiles. She made her own High School formal dresses, her own wedding gown, and much more! She honed her skills in High School and continued to learn and develop her talent. She transferred her love of sewing for herself, to her ability to create custom clothing for her own children. They wore many outfits created with love!
Susan graduated from California State University Stanislaus in 1980 and taught for 33 years as an elementary school teacher. During her career in education she was a Mentor Teacher, Teacher of the Year and a distinguished teacher within her district. She brought her love of crafts and sewing to her classroom often teaching students how to hand sew. After retirement she pursued work in local shops knowing that she wanted to be involved in a field that is her hobby and passion.
Susan Florez is a retired teacher, mom of four, and grandmother of eight. She currently resides in Twain Harte, CA with her husband Steve, step-daughter and youngest daughter. They built their dream log-home on two acres and have been enjoying all that Tuolumne County has to offer!

We are located in the beautiful foothills of Tuolumne County, a scenic destination for many travelers, in Sonora, CA. Our name is inspired by our area, and our state bird, the California Quail. We hope to inspire, teach and share with all who come through our door.
