What's Blown into the Nest?
The weather has certainly made for interesting days here at Quail's Nest Quilt Co! People, leaves, and raindrops have blown through the front door. Despite the weather, the Beginning Quilting class has begun. Ten newbies started last Tuesday. Six are in the morning class, and 4 in the afternoon class. It looks like the Beyond Beginning class will have to wait because there is only one signed up for Tuesday, January 19th.
My notions order that I made at the end of December is still not here! Maybe it took a Tahoe ski week along the way. It is expected to arrive on Monday. Some new fabrics did make it to the shop.
This is called Jolie Groovy Garden by MODA.
STOMP, STOMP, ROAR BY MODA also arrived...
A beautiful light blue thatched came in as a back ordered bolt.
The Jo Jo Quilt is finished and the class is filling up fast. It is on January 27th. It costs $35.00. 10:00-2:00 The fabric requirement is (12) 1/3rd yard cuts. Binding is a half yard.
Cutting is fast with one of the Stripology rulers, Stripology Squared, or Stripology XL, but it is not necessary. The pattern is in the Stripology Mixology Book 2. More books should arrive on Monday.
We have sold our first kits, but we could put together a few kits with one or two substitutions. However, the Cinnamon & Cream layer cake would work as well. Any layer cake will be fine! Ten inch squares are cut from the 1/3rd yards.
The Reverse Applique Class will meet on Saturday, January 28th instead
of the 14th. So, there is still time to register for this class from
It is $35.00 10:00-3:00
Here is an applique quilt that I am starting for the shop. I did not get the fabrics shown in the picture. (You can see why.) Here are the fabrics I will be using.
There will be a pink Cadillac, or is it a T-Bird? Let me know. :)
