A bright new year is before us, and we have some fantastic classes and teachers scheduled for this coming year!  I have Lynn Wilder scheduled, Cindy Mammon is coming on the MLK,JR. weekend, and I have spent an early evening with Mo Gonzales as she presented a literal "trunk" show of her quilts, and I met with Petra Keller about presenting a skill each quarter that we always wanted to know how to do.
Our website is live now!  As soon as we enter a class on the computer it loads onto the website, if you know of others who are not receiving emails since November, please have them go to quailsnestquiltco.com and reregister.  The messages given in December are still available under the Newsletter heading.


PJ Pants - Tomorrow, Friday, January 5th 10:00-12:30 Possibly longer   $10.00
               Learn basic sewing skills and make pajama pants.  We have patterns available.

BEGINNING QUILTING - Wednesday, January 10th, 2:00-4:30  $50.00 for 5, 2 1/2 hour sessions.
               Following sessions are Wednesday, Jan. 17, 24, 31, and February 7th.
               Come in ahead of time to select your focus fabric, Fat Quarters, information sheet, and supplies.
               Beginning quilting is for the new quilters and those who want to perfect their skills.
               This is taught by Susan Florez.

BEYOND BEGINNING QUILTING - Thursday, January 11th 10:00-2:30  $50.00  You will learn triangle piecing and many traditional blocks. 
              You will need the book called "Simple Simon Guide to Patchwork Quilting".  Small projects will be made. After this class you wil
              be ready to select patterns and know how to follow them.  Subsequent dates are: January 25th, February 1, and February 8
                                                                                      
Polka Dottie! - January 12th 10:00-4:30ish  Bargain Price of $35.00!  Learn Paper Piecing with curves.  You will need a packet of information.
             The packet includes the supply list, template patterns, and the paper piecing patterns.  There is still room in this class, but it is filling
             up fast.
                                                               
Hand Applique - Learn Hand Applique!  It can be any design or pattern that you want to learn with.  I have a simple pattern available.
                        January 13th with Cindy Mammon.  She is a long time quilter and teacher from Antioch.  Part of Quail Hollow could be used 
                        as a learning pattern, for example, the quail.  The class is a bargain at only $35.00!
                                                                                
Stacked Squares!  Friday, January 26th  10:00-4:00  $40.00
                           I shared this quilt at the December Quilt Guild party.   Several quilters wanted to see this come back in the future instead
                           of December.  Ginger Duffy is the teacher.  She will present how to make the squares "pop" forward.  Placement              
                           is the key!  The pattern is given as part of the class.  You will need about 23-24 10 inch squares in a light color.
                           and 2 Jelly Rolls or 10-15 dark Fat Quarters which you will need to cut into 2 1/2 inch strips.                                                                                           
PINWHEEL BREEZE!  This class is taught by Mo Gonzales.  She has visited Quail's Nest on many occasions throughout the past year.  She 
                              brings groups to retreat in our area and is the presenter/teacher.  She has a lot of patience and goes the extra mile.                               Friday, February 2nd Groundhog's Day :)   10:00-4:30ish  $45.00  minimum of 4 students required.

FEATHERWEIGHT MAINENTANCE IS BACK!  The Twice Nice Shoppe with David and Marian Trebotich are coming
                                Saturday, February 3rd   10:00-2:00  $40.00  Bring your featherweight and yourself.  You
                                will learn sew much about the care and use of your machine!  They bring parts and supplies.

The first skill that Petra will be teaching is called Afghani Piecing 10-1:00 March 16th. $30.00 See her sample and others in the shop.
